What Is Nursing?

BSCTC offers a two-year nursing program. Completion of the Modular Program allows students to become eligible to test NCLEX RN which allows students to have a career as a registered nurse.

The Nursing Program is offered on the Prestonsburg Campus and Pikeville of Big Sandy. Clinical learning experiences are held in health care delivery facilities throughout the region including but not limited to Pike, Floyd, Johnson, and Magoffin counties. Transportation to the community agencies is the responsibility of each student.

Effective July 11, 2025, this nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires in Fall 2027.
