What Is Nursing?
BSCTC offers a two-year nursing program. The Academic Career Mobility Program provides a seamless education in nursing with two exit points, allowing students to choose a career as a LPN, RN, or Both.
The Nursing Program is offered on the Prestonsburg Campus of Big Sandy. Clinical learning experiences are held in health care delivery facilities throughout the region including but not limited to Pike, Floyd, Johnson, and Magoffin counties. Transportation to the community agencies is the responsibility of each student.
What are my career options?
Students who successfully complete the first year will receive a diploma qualifying them to apply for licenser as a Practical Nurse. After successful completion of the second year students will receive the Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing, qualifying them to apply for licenser as a Registered Nurse.
