Bias Incident Response at BSCTC
BSCTC is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice. BSCTC stands firm against prejudice in all its forms. If you experience, witness, or are aware of a bias incident, submit a report to alert the incident response team. Community members are encouraged to report various acts of bias or hate witnessed on campus through this online reporting form.
By submitting this form, you are sending a powerful message that bias and hate are not tolerated on campus. You are also assisting by recognizing the bias on campus. With this information, the incident response team can devise new strategies, policies, and procedures to counter such bias on campus.
What You Can Expect
The Interim Dean of Student Affairs, privately reviews all submitted incident reports with responses typically within 1-2 business days of a report.
BSCTC’s Response Might Include:
- Conversation(s) centered around the incident and impacted person(s)
- Refer reporter to appropriate campus offices that can effectively respond
- Refer impacted to support resources
- Incident assessment, response plan
- Ongoing support and check-ins
- Possible Outcomes Include:
- 1-on-1 ongoing support
- Engage person(s) impacting others
- Engage leaders to address systemic issues
- Mediation and facilitated dialogue
