Graduation Information
Attention:
Students get your graduation cap and gown now through May 5th.
Congratulations! You did it! Your hard work has paid off; now it's time to apply to graduate and celebrate!
Getting Ready to Graduate
During the term before you intend to graduate:
- Meet with your advisor for an academic evaluation to make sure that all requirements for your certificate, diploma, and/or degree will be met on time.
During the term you intend to graduate:
- Apply to graduate or visit the Office of the Registrar at our Prestonsburg Campus by the appropriate
term’s graduation application deadline:
- Spring 2024: April 1, 2025
- Summer 2024: July 1, 2025
- Fall 2024: November 1, 2025
- Please note: You must submit a separate application for each certificate, diploma, or degree you complete. If you need assistance with the application, contact your advisor or the Advising Center on your campus.
Commencement (Graduation Ceremony)
Big Sandy Community & Technical College holds Commencement (Graduation Ceremony) once a year at the end of Spring Semester.
All students who are completing coursework for spring semester or completed all coursework during the previous fall and/or summer semesters are welcome and encouraged to participate in this annual celebration!
You must register* and order a cap & gown to participate in Commencement.
Note: Commencement registration is separate from applying to graduate.

- Commencement 2025 on May 10, 2025 10:00am at the MAC
- Required Rehearsal May 9, 2025 at 10:00am at the MAC

Academic Attire is required.
You may purchase your cap & gown online or you may visit the BSCTC bookstore to order in person.
