  • Awarded to one student from Johnson Central High School and one student from Paintsville High School majoring in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement

  • Applicants must submit a proposal for performing a "Building A Better You" project during the academic year that exemplifies wellness goals and philosophies in one or more of the following components: emotional, intellectual, physical, environmental, spiritual, social, and occupational
  • Preference given to students who are overcoming significant hardships in one of the above-mentioned components

KCTCS JOHN T. SMITH SCHOLARSHIP

John T. Smith Scholarships recognize minority residents of Kentucky who have demonstrated the potential for academic success.

The scholarship is for one year (fall & spring semesters). Renewable the second year at BSCTC with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
