My hope is that your experience here will enlighten you to find the Passion for the Possible, whether you are a transfer student, earning a degree or credential or utilizing one or more of our workforce and continuing education classes.

Im honored to be the president of an institution that has the community in the heart of its mission. From the formation of the Mayo Technical College more than 75 years ago to the opening of Prestonsburg Community College in 1964, Big Sandy Community and Technical College is a regional catalyst for higher education and workforce training.

My hope is that within the walls of our campuses and beyond, you will be equipped with the skills to be successful in the workplace. We are the college of opportunity; the college of hope, and the college of dreams. You, our students and stakeholders, drive our passion to deliver quality higher education and workforce training.

The most exhilarating part of being a community college president comes at graduation when I shake the hand of a student and share in that special moment of earning a degree or credential. As a community college graduate, I understand the hardships faced by students, juggling life, family, work and school. Its worth it in the end, when they walk on stage, all with a different journey, to one common place graduation.
