SIZEMORE FEATURED IN BSCTC ART GALLERY

Tim Sizemore is shown with some of his work in the BSCTC Art Gallery. Tim Sizemore is one of the best kept secrets at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC).

We hope the secret gets out.

Sizemore, who has served as an art instructor for the past 15 years, is currently the featured artist in the Art Gallery on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC. His exhibit will run through December 24 in the Magoffin Learning Resource Center.

I believe art should be a reflection of your experiences both good and bad, said Sizemore. Many times, I do my best work when I comment on injustice and the troubles we must deal with as humans.

Sizemore is one of the regions most decorated artist. A graduate of Morehead State University, he has exhibited at the Smithsonian, Berea College, Somerset Community College, the Kentucky Artisan Center and at the inauguration of former Gov. Martha Layne Collins. He has taught workshops at the Hindman Settlement School and the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C., to name a few.

Sizemore, who also teaches at the David School, lives in Floyd County on Middle Creek in an 1860 log home that was formerly a one-room school in Wolfe County.

The art gallery is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Sizemore at (606) 886-3863, Ext.64746.
