    BSCTC 2014 SGA Elections are currently being conducted through Class Climate; notification was sent through KCTCS Email. Voting ends Monday, May 12. And here are the candidates!

    Running for the office of the President

    Zane MaheuZane Maheu

    Program Plan: Associate of Science
    Resides in Pike County

    "I would like to run for President. I feel a deep connection to the people of Eastern Kentucky. Im new to the area (3 years), but feel like I have been here all my life. I think a strong President could help pull the students together. I connect easily to people. Im not afraid of issues and I know how to confront them head on."

    Running for the office of the Vice President

    Resides in Johnson County

    "I feel I would be a good fit for this leadership position because I have had a leadership role before and I always gave everything I had in order to make sure everything runs smoothly. I am a member of the Honors Program and that comes with a leadership role. Things I am passionate about- helping people, working hard, and being honest."

    "I would be honored to represent Big Sandy Community amp; Technical Colleges student body as Vice President. Holding this position would allow me to communicate the concerns of the student body to the Administration and the Board of Directors. I feel I am suitable for this position because I am a great communicator and I am able to lead and organize group projects. I am also personable and will take this opportunity to reach out and help my peers."

    "Students seem to be less engaged in campus life on the Pikeville campus. Representation in decision making processes might change that. I was an SGA officer in high school and we actually managed to enact a few student issues. If nothing else, at least students might be more aware of programs like Build Smart before they become official."
