PAINTSVILLE MASONIC LODGE ANNOUNCES WORKING TOOLS SCHOLARSHIP

The Paintsville Masonic Lodge has entered into an agreement with Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) to provide $1,000 in scholarships for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 academic years.

The Paintsville Masonic Lodge #381 Working Tools Scholarship will go to students entering a technical program on the colleges Mayo campus. Two recipients will receive $250 during the fall and spring semester.

We hope to focus on the generation of men and women who will build our communities, said Tony Skeans, who serves as master of the Paintsville Masonic Lodge. Its important that we provide the people of our region the tools and resources to be successful.

The scholarship will be administered through the Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc. Last year, the foundation awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships to deserving students.

Our community partners play an important role in making the dream of a college education a reality for our students, said Randy Roberts, director of institutional advancement at BSCTC. Since 2008, BSCTC has enrolled more than 21,000 first-generation college students. We appreciate the generosity of the Paintsville Masonic Lodge.
