NASHVILLE RECORDING ARTIST, KNOTT COUNTY NATIVE BRITTANY TAYLOR TO PERFORM NOV. 24

Nashville recording artist and Knott County native Brittany Taylor will headline the Fall Artist Series in the Gearheart Auditorium on the Prestonsburg campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 24.

The series, sponsored by the BSCTC Fine Arts department and the Mountain Arts Center, will conclude with the Prestonsburg Songwriters Series on Thursday, December 3.

This is an opportunity to not only hear some great music, but to learn and better understand the craft of song writing, said Clayton Case, director of Fine Arts at BSCTC. We are thrilled to have the caliber of artists and writers on our stage.

Taylor was a member of the Kentucky Opry Jr. Pros for 10 years and attended Governors School for the Arts in Musical Theater. She moved to Nashville when she was 17 years old and attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she graduated with a degree in music business. She then pursued songwriting full time while making ends meet playing gigs downtown Nashville.

Taylor eventually signed with CAL 4 music publishing (which is now Spirit Music) in Nashville. She is part of the up-and-coming trio Triple Run.

Jeremy Dempsey, a communications professor at BSCTC, will serve as Taylors opening act.
