Meet the Candidates for SGA

Adriana Kretzer (Freshman Rep)

I'm Adriana Kretzer, a freshman on the Prestonsburg Campus. I'm in the honors program and I plan on majoring in Nursing. I live in Paintsville, in Johnson County. I would like to be a part of SGA because I love being involved in anything I am apart of; I feel like SGA would be the perfect way to get involved on campus. I would be proud to represent the freshman class and would take pride in doing so!

Olivia Colvin (Vice President)

My name is Olivia Colvin. I am from Johnson County and attend Big Sandy Community and Technical College. I am in the honors program and attend classes on the Prestonsburg campus. I plan to obtain an associate in arts at Big Sandy. When I finish here I want to get my bachelor's degree in marketing management at Morehead. I am running for an SGA office because I enjoy being involved in school affairs and volunteering my time to improving the overall environment for students.

Malinda Alison Porter (Treasurer)

"My name is Alison Porter and I currently reside in Johnson County. I am enrolled in the Associates in Arts program here at the Big Sandy Prestonsburg Campus. I'm working toward my doctorate in psychology. I am running for treasurer of the Student Government Association because I believe, with my experience in student government in high school, I will be able to serve this campus well. As a freshman, I am new to the college experience, but I can definitely help bring fresh ideas to the table and be the best treasurer this campus has seen.

Kaitlyn Elizabeth Campbell (Secretary)

My name is Kaitlyn Elizabeth Campbell. I live in Floyd County. I am working toward my Associates in Arts. I attend class on the Prestonsburg campus. I am running for SGA because I want to help better KCTCS schools, and my community. I feel my prior leadership roles, and volunteer opportunities would be an asset to the college because of the knowledge I have gained through helping others.

Aaron Curnutte (Secretary/Treasurer)

My name is Aaron Curnutte, I'm from Floyd County. I attend big Sandy's Prestonsburg campus, where I play in the big sandy band and am currently majoring in arts. I am running for the student government position of secretary and treasurer because I have many innovative ideas to make our experience here at big sandy more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Matt Pinon (Vice President)

My name is Matt Pinon. I am currently enrolled in the Business Management Plan with an emphasis in Accounting. I am registered through the Pikeville campus, however my courses are online. As I am sure it is easy to assume from where I am registered in classes at, I do reside in Pike County. I want to run for the office of SGA VP because, alongside the other members of the SGA, I want to make BSCTC the best college in the KCTCS system. I want to make every student who walks through the doors of the BSCTC campuses feel like they have a say in what is going on in their college, and make them feel welcome and at home on campus. Most people think of Community College students as being second rate citizens in the college world, but I want to let them know that BSCTC has the best students and faculty around.

Brandon McGuire (Freshman Rep)

Hello, my name is Brandon McGuire. I currently reside in Floyd Co., but I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. I am all about getting involved. As I study business at Big Sandy's wonderful Prestonsburg campus, I become more and more motivated to get involved! I decided to run for student government because I desire to fulfill my role in providing the best college experience possible for my fellow students here at Big Sandy.
