MCFADDIN SPEAKS TO PHI THETTA KAPPA STUDENTS

David McFaddin, executive director of governmental affairs at Eastern Kentucky University, spoke at the Phi Theta Kappa leadership retreat on Friday, March 7, on the Prestonsburg campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College.

A Johnson County native, McFaddin spent seven years as regional director for legislative and external affairs at ATamp;T before accepting his current post at EKU in January 2013.

The retreat also included presentations from Phi Theta Kappa sponsors, Cindy Manning, Marsha McKenzie and Kitty Miller. Manning spoke to students about job interview techniques. Marsha McKenzie addressed the importance of body language, and Miller presented on the Big Five personality test and what the results mean. During lunch, students learned about formal table etiquette.
