JOHNSON COUNTY ADULT EDUCATION EARNS PROGRAM OF EXCELLENCE AWARD
The Johnson County Adult Education program was recently honored as Program of Excellence
by Kentucky Adult Education, marking the 13th consecutive year the program has achieved
this milestone.
Its a testament to our staff and our students, said Jennifer Leedy, who serves as
director of the Johnson County Adult Education program. People come to us from all
aspects of life, but our goal is to work with them to get them on the path to success.
Located on the Mayo campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, Johnson County
Adult Education was one of only 39 programs in the state to earn this mark of excellence.
To be a Program of Excellence, programs must meet certain criteria including overall
achievement, academic performance and enrollment.
We far exceeded the expectations set forth by the state because we truly care about
our students and their career paths, said Leedy. Our students go into multiple career
pathways once they complete our program, including jobs and post-secondary education.
