Interapt, TechHire expansion to be housed on BSCTC Mayo campus
Interapt, a Louisville-based technology firm, announced its plan to expand its company and help create a technology ecosystem in Eastern Kentucky at the Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) Innovation Summit in Pikeville on Monday, June 6.
The venture is part of the TechHire Eastern Kentucky (TEKY) and is a collaboration between the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, Inc. (EKCEP), Interapt and Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC).
Interapts Eastern Kentucky hub will be on the Mayo campus of BSCTC in Paintsville.
Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of BSCTC, said the announcement of coding training, paid internships and jobs demonstrates the power of true collaboration.
I want to take this opportunity to commend EKCEP Executive Director Jeff Whitehead and their team; Interapt; SOAR; and our team for their dedicated work to turn this dream into a reality, said Dr. Stephenson. We hope this collaboration is the foundation of building a robust technology economy in Eastern Kentucky.
