    GOLF SCRAMBLE RAISES NEARLYTHAN $30,000 FOR EAST KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER

    The event raised nearly $30,000 for the East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium. Located on the Prestonsburg campus of BSCTC, the center hosted more than 8,500 students from 61 schools last year.

    We had a great day of golf and played for a great cause, said BSCTC President and CEO Dr. George D. Edwards. The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium provides students the opportunity to participate in interactive exhibits that engage them in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) areas.

    Kinner and Patton Law Office of Paintsville took home first place. Team members included: Mitch Kinner, David Blankenship, Bryant Lemaster and L.B. Lemaster. Eastern Screens and Drives (Randy Hale, Bill Mike Runyon, Jimmy Daniels and Ryan Martin) finished second, while Berkeley Energy (Glenn Turner, David Bradley and Neil Turner) was third.

    David Bradley earned the longest drive award. Sen. Johnny Ray Turner, Everett Phipps and L.B. Lemaster were closest to the pin on holes eight, 11 and 17, respectively.
