EKSC TO HOST HALLOWEEN EVENTS

The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium (EKSC) will host a special showing of the Fright Light laser show and a Halloween costume contest.

The Fright Light laser show will take place at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 24. Showcasing songs such as Michael Jacksons Thriller and Black Sabbaths Iron Man, and classics like Purple People Eater, and Monster Mash. Patrons will be mesmerized by an interactive laser display on the centers 40-foot diameter dome. Admission is $5.

Our guests always have a great time with the Fright Light laser show, said Steve Russo, director of the EKSC. We enjoy watching our guests react to the show. It doesnt matter if it is your first time or you are a regular, it never gets old.

On Saturday, October 31, the EKSC will host a costume contest from noon to 4 p.m. Categories include preschool (up to four years old), elementary school (kindergarten to fourth grade) and middle school (fifth through eighth grade). Judging will begin at 2 p.m. and first-place winners will receive a prize.

The fun-filled day will include planetarium shows, the Fright Light laser show, activities and demonstrations. All participants will receive a goody bag.

Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors and children four years old and under are free.
