EAST KENTUCKY SCIENCE CENTER HOSTS OPPOSITES ATTRACT CAMP

The East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium held an Opposites Attract full-day camp on Tuesday, June 10.

Located on the Prestonsburg campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, the East Kentucky Science Center and Planetarium will hold a variety of summer camps for children of all ages in the coming weeks.

One-day camps, for children entering kindergarten through third grade, will be held on Wednesday, June 25 (Test Tube Creations) and Wednesday, July 9 (Bubble-ology). Registration is $30 for non-members and $25 for members. The events run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lunch is provided.

One more half-day, preschool camp (Space Explorers) will be held on Tuesday, July 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. Registration is $15 for non-members and $10 for members.

Camps for children entering grades fourth through eighth will be held on Friday, June 20 (Unsolved Mystery), Friday, June 27 (Doc McScience) and Tuesday, July 29 (Lego my Robot). Registration is $30 for non-members and $25 for members. The events run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lunch is provided.

A two-day camp (Lost in Space) will be held for children entering grades third through eighth on July 15-16. Registration is $50 for non-members and $40 for members. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and lunch is provided.

Through a grant from the National Girls Collaborative, the center will hold a free two-day camp for girls (Colorful Chemistry) on June 12-13. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily and lunch is provided.
