CARROLL PRESENTS AT NISOD CONFERENCE

John Carroll, a professor at BSCTC, gave a presentation at the NISOD conference on Tuesday, May 27, entitled Utilizing Active Learning to Make Connections and Improve Retention.John Carroll, a professor at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), presented at the prestigious National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) conference on Tuesday, May 27 in Austin, Texas.

Carrolls presentation was entitled Utilizing Active Learning to Make Connections and Improve Retention. This marks the second time Carroll has presented at NISOD. He was a speaker in 2004.

My presentation hopefully prepared faculty to go back into the classroom with a toolbox of strategies to actively engage students in course content, said Carroll, who has taught at BSCTC for 15 years. I wanted to share my passion for student success and my desire for them to view my course as a learning experience.
