BUZZ BAKER, CRAIG CHANOFF TO BE FEATURED SPEAKERS AT BSCTC CONVOCATION

National sportscaster Dave Buzzamp;rdrdquo; Baker and Craig Chanoff, general manager of Blackboard Student Services, Inc., will be keynote speakers at Big Sandy Community and Technical Colleges fall convocation on Wednesday, August 3 at the Mountain Arts Center.

Baker, who is a sports anchor, reporter and account executive at WKYT in Lexington, Ky., has worked Southeastern Conference (SEC) games for more than two decades. In addition to his duties at WKYT, he is part of the mens and women basketball packages for the SEC Network.

An Ohio native, Baker has worked two Final Four telecasts for Turner Sports TeamCasts. He has covered the University of Kentucky in five Final Fours, including three national championships (1996, 1998 and 2012).

Dave Baker is around some of the most successful athletic programs in the nation, said Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of BSCTC. We want to get some insight on what he believes are the elements of success.

This years convocation theme is Elements of Success and will have a customer (student) service focus.

Thats where Chanoff is an expert. Leading customer service at Blackboard Student Services, Inc., he is responsible for managing corporate strategy for client care. He has more than a decade of relationship management, executive leadership and software experience.

Craig Chanoff is a globally recognized expert in customer and student services, said Dr. Stephenson. Our employees will have the opportunity to learn about trends and how we can better meet the needs of our students to improve community, workforce and economic development across eastern Kentucky.

BSCTC offers 30 programs and more than 200 credentials. The college is currently registering students for the fall semester. Financial Aid is still available.
