BSCTC WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS KICKS OFF 7 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE TRAINING

Bob Gound, SPHR presented the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People during a program Tuesday, August 18, on the Mayo campus of Big Sandy Community and Technical College. Big Sandy Community and Technical Colleges (BSCTC) Workforce Solutions office kicked off the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People training on Tuesday, August 19, for workforce, non-profit and civic leaders across eastern Kentucky on its Mayo campus.

The program, facilitated by Bob Gound, SPHR, focused on a proven personal leadership system that is based on the timeless principles of effectiveness.

Leadership is the foundation of community and economic development, said Gound. We are excited to offer this service to leaders across Eastern Kentucky.

The seven habits are: be proactive; begin with the end in mind; put first things first; then win win; seek first to understand then be understood; centergize, and sharpen the saw.

The first three habits focus on personal effectiveness and victory, said Gound. The final four habits center on public victory.

Kelli Hall, director of workforce solutions at BSCTC, said proven leadership training is critical to the viability of workforce development across the region.

Sound leadership produces positive results, she said. Cultivating leaders and promoting personal and professional growth will ready our workforce for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

BSCTCs Workforce Solutions office and Gound have announced a L2: Learn and Lead simulcast with the internationally renowned John Maxwell on Friday, October 10, in the Gearheart Auditorium on the Prestonsburg campus. In addition to Maxwell, speakers will include marketing expert Linda Kaplin-Thaler and Tim Sanders, one of the founders of Yahoo.
