BSCTC WELCOMES TURNER AS GRANT WRITER

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) has hired Bethany Turner as its new grant writer.

Turner, who earned a communications degree at Ball State University, comes to BSCTC after spending time as a grant writer for the AmeriCorps VISTA program and Muncie Civic Theatre.

Im looking forward to working with the college, our programs and our communities to bring opportunities that enhance the quality of life of those within our service area, said Turner. Community Colleges play such an important role in regards to student access and community and economic development.

Joshua Ball, director of college relations at BSCTC, said the grants department will work with departments throughout the college to enhance services related to student access, retention and success.

Bethany brings a high level of energy to her position, said Ball. We look forward to brokering a meaningful dialogue among our employees, business and industry, and community leaders to enhance the lives of those in the Big Sandy region.

Turner and her husband, Garrison, a physics instructor at BSCTC, reside in Prestonsburg. To contact Bethany, call (606) 886-3863, Ext. 67316 or email bturner0189@kctcs.edu.
