BSCTC TO OFFER SERVSAFE FOOD SERVICE COURSE

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) will offer an industry-leading food handlers course on its Pikeville campus Saturday, August 29.

The course is designed to develop an understanding of basic principles of food sanitation and safety and to apply them in a food service environment. Participants will learn food safety regulations, flow of food through operation, food safety management systems, facilities management and employment training.

The food service and hospitality industry continues to grow throughout our service area, said Kelli Hall, director of Workforce Solutions at BSCTC. This certification is important to those working in the food service industry, those who seek to move into management level positions and those who are considering a career in food service and hospitality.
