BSCTC TO OFFER ACT/SAT AND GRE TEST PREPARATION COURSES

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) is hosting convenient, online test preparation courses for the ACT, SAT and GRE tests through its Ed2Go program.

The colleges Ed2Go program is operated through Workforce Solutions and Community Education. The classes are designed in six-week formats, featuring an interactive learning environment and access to instructors.

An SAT/ACT Preparation Part 1 and Part 2 courses start on March 18, April 15 and May 13. The course is designed to prepare students for the reading, English and science portions of the ACT, as well as critical reading and writing sections of the new SAT. The courses also feature tips on alleviating test anxiety and refreshing knowledge of verbal topics.

The GRE Prep Part I and 2 courses takes students through all the question types on the verbal reasoning and analytical writing sections, including reading comprehension, text competition, sentence equivalence questions and both essay types. Part 2 features a math review and techniques for tackling the quantitative comparison, data interpretation and standard math questions that make up the quantitative reasoning sections. Courses start on March 18, April 15 and May 13.

Our program offers the flexibility and convenience of online learning with access to instructors, said Kelli Hall, director of Workforce Solutions at BSCTC. These classes are designed to address the hurdles many test takers have in taking these types of tests.
