BSCTC TO LAUNCH NEW TRANSFER PROGRAM

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) is set to launch a new transfer initiative that will assist students in obtaining under-graduate degrees.

The college will host a Transfer Fair on Monday, November 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center on the Prestonsburg campus. The event will feature representatives from 11 schools from across the state and the launch of the new College Fish program.

College Fish is a college completion and transfer program designed to assist students in researching, organizing and planning for transfer. A website-based program (www.collegefish.org), College Fish offers those who enroll with access to online learning resources and $37 million in transfer scholarships.

Weve been very proactive in establishing relationship with our state and private schools in regards to students transferring, said Leslie Bays, a counselor at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. With our Go2Transfer program, students can get their basics and transfer with ease to schools across the state. This makes us a very affordable option in regards to a college education.

Students participating in Mondays event will be able to register for College Fish and register for a variety of prizes, including a transfer scholarship.

College Fish is supported by Phi Theta Kappa, the International Honor Society for community colleges.
