BSCTC TO HOST REGISTRATION FOR FALL SEMESTER AUGUST 11-15

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) will hold registration for the fall semester on August 11-15 on its campuses in Prestonsburg, Paintsville, Pikeville and Hager Hill.

New students can get a jump start on the registration process by applying for admissions online at http://bigsandy.kctcs.edu/Admissions/How_to_Apply.aspx

Advisors and counselors will be on hand to assist students in choosing a career path, register for classes and submit information for financial aid. Registration will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11; Tuesday, August 12 and Friday, August 15. Offices will be open extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14. Classes begin on Monday, August 18.

BSCTC offers 27 programs and over 200 credentials. The colleges Go2Transfer program allows students to get their basics close to home and transfer with ease to the four-year school of their choice. The Go2Work program provides training for high-wage, high-demand jobs in two years or less.

Our college has experienced unprecedented growth over the years, but our commitment to providing a quality and affordable college education has remained the same, said Jimmy Wright, dean of student affairs.

The college offers a variety of services to students. Beyond standard financial aid, the college distributes more than $350,000 in scholarships annually through the Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc. Programs such as Ready to Work and Work and Learn provide financial assistance and work-study opportunities for Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) participants who want to return to school. Accelerating Opportunity Kentucky allows students to take adult education and technical training simultaneously to work towards an industry-leading credential.
