BSCTC TO HOST MUSIC IN THE PARK ON OCTOBER 10 ON MAYO CAMPUS

The Big Sandy Singer and Band, an elite group of vocalists and musicians from BSCTC, will perform during Music in the Park on Friday, October 10, at the Mayo Park.

Update: Due to weather, the event will now take place in the Mayo Auditorium, adjacent to the Park.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) will host Music in the Park at 6 p.m., Friday, October 10, on its Mayo campus.

Constructed on the former site of Building B on the Mayo campus, the park showcases the colleges efforts in sustainability as it features park benches and swings made of recycled plastic and solar lighting.

5 Miles from Nowhere, a local bluegrass group, as well as the Big Sandy Singers and Band will be the featured entertainment. This marks the first year that the Big Sandy Singers, an elite group of student vocalists, have been joined by musicians. All band members are also BSCTC students.

Were looking forward to a great evening of music and fun, said Clayton Case, director of Fine Arts at BSCTC. Our singers and band do a tremendous job promoting the college and fine arts across the region.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair. They will also have the opportunity to visit with BSCTC President/CEO Dr. George D. Edwards, who will retire next year.

We look forward to sharing a great evening of music and fun with the community, said Joshua Ball, director of college relations at BSCTC. Our park is a tremendous addition to our campus and downtown Paintsville.
