BSCTC TO HOST FORUM FOR DEMOCRACTIC CANDIDATES FOR U.S. SENATE FEB. 29

Big Sandy Community and Technical College will host a forum for candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate at 6:45 p.m., Monday, February 29 in the Gearheart Auditorium on the Prestonsburg campus.

Six of the seven candidates seeking the nomination have confirmed their participation. Lexington Mayor Jim Gray has been invited but has yet to confirm his attendance. Those participating include: Rory Houlihan, Jeff Kender, Ron Leach, Tom Recktenwald, Grant Short and Sellus Wilder.

Ralph Davis (EKB), Andrea Saddler (The Floyd County Times), Mary Meadows (The Floyd County Chronicle) and Neil Middleton (WYMT-TV) will constitute the panel of journalist.

Dr. Thomas Matijasic, professor of history at BSCTC, said the forum will allow eastern Kentuckians the opportunity to listen to candidates and their respective platforms as it relates to the issues affecting them.

The forum is free and open to the public.
