Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) President/CEO Dr. George D. Edwards met with a group of students from the Inez Deposit Bank Intern program on Thursday, July 31, to offer the colleges support for Martin County becoming a Work Ready Community.

Operated through the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board, Work Ready Communities meet criteria in the following areas: high school graduation rates, National Career Readiness Certificate holders, community commitment, educational attainment, soft skills development and Internet availability.

Work Ready Communities establishes a clear blueprint for economic and workforce development, and were proud to offer our support for this exciting initiative, said Dr. Edwards. It is also nice to see young people, such as the Inez Deposit Bank interns, lay the groundwork to garner community and regional support in this endeavor.
