BSCTC set to launch 12-week accelerated session September 12

Did you miss starting classes in August? Still waiting on financial aid to be approved? Or did you plan on attending a university and it just didnt work out?

No worries. Weve got your back.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) has launched a special 12-week session that begins September 12.

Students that didnt start in August should not have to wait until January to take classes, said Kelli Hall, dean of career and workforce development at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. This accelerated pathway is perfect for students who could not start in August or students who thought they wanted to go away for school and decided to stay home.

BSCTC offers the states lowest tuition, 30 programs and more than 200 industry-recognized credentials. Hall stressed that many of the colleges career education programs will offer 12-week programs.

We know many students are looking for a program that leads to a credential and a job, Hall added. Thats the objective of our career education programs. They are aligned with the needs of business and industry, and programmed to lead to employment.

Financial aid is still available to those who qualify. Hall said it is important for students to begin the application process as soon as possible.

We have staff on all campuses that are ready to assist students with the admissions and financial aid process, said Hall. Students should fill their FAFSA (Federal Assistance for Federal Student Aid) immediately at fafsa.ed.gov.
