    BSCTC RECOGNIZES THE LATE REV. GENE LAYNE FOR SERVICE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

    Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College, presented Sandy Layne with a citation recognizing her husband, Gene Laynes, service to the college board of directors on Friday, January 8, a the Highway District 12 office in Pikeville. Layne passed away on September 17, 2014. Shown are: Rusty Justice, vice-chair of the BSCTC Board of Directors; Dr. Stephenson, Sandy Layne and Chief District Engineer Highway District 12 Mary Westfall-HolbrookDr. Devin Stephenson, president of Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), presented Sandy Layne with a citation honoring her late husband, Rev. Gene Laynes, service to the colleges board of directors.

    Gene Layne worked for the Kentucky State Highway Department for 34 years until his death of September 17, 2014.

    Genes contributions to the community and our college were countless, said Dr. Stephenson. His legacy continues to live through the many lives he touched.

    Rusty Justice, vice-chair of the BSCTC Board of Directors, joined Dr. Stephenson for the citation presentation.
