BSCTC ENROLLMENT SKYROCKETING FOR FALL SEMESTER

Big Sandy Community and Technical Colleges (BSCTC) enrollment for the fall semester has increased more than 12 percent year to date, BSCTC President Dr. Devin Stephenson announced on Monday.

The college, which has campuses in Prestonsburg, Pikeville Mayo (Paintsville) and Hager Hill, saw record numbers during an Express Enrollment campaign last week.

I want to thank our amazing employees for their dedication and hard work during the summer, said Dr. Stephenson. Higher education and career training is a critical component to community, economic and workforce development, and we are proud to be the regions first choice in higher education.

Prospective students have plenty of time to register for classes, said Dean of Student Services Jimmy Wright.

We are here to assist students through the admissions and financial aid process, said Wright. It is important that students seeking admission complete both the admissions application and their FAFSA (Federal Application For Student Aid) as soon as possible.

Wright said that both applications can be completed online, however, there are staff available at each campus to help prospective students navigate the process.

We understand that the process can be overwhelming for some, and thats not unusual, added Wright. Our experienced staff are glad to assist students through the process all the way to the start of class.
Last year, BSCTC served more than 10,000 students in credit, non-credit and workforce development programs. The college offers 30 programs, more than 200 credentials, online course options and the states lowest tuition.
