Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) President/CEO Dr. George D. Edwards finalized an agreement with the Delta Sigma Sorority for the Betty M. Dorton Nursing Scholarship on Wednesday, July 30.

Without the generosity of our donors, the dream of a college education would not be a reality for many of our students, said Dr. Edwards. Betty Dorton was a healthcare professional that put her patients first, and this scholarship will help train nurses for many years to come.

The $1,000 scholarship will be administered through the Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc. (BSCEF). Last year, the foundation awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
