BSCTC ANNOUNCES NEW HORIZONS AWARD WINNERS

Three Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) employees were recognized for their service and dedication to the college during the fall convocation on Wednesday, August 3 at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC).

Don Montgomery, maintenance and operations supervisor, Associate Professor of Nursing Collista Allen and Sally Porter, senior administrative assistant in Workforce Solutions, were selected as New Horizons award winners.

Don Montgomery

Montgomery is the administrative recipient of the New Horizons award. He started at the college in 1989.

I am very appreciative and honored to earn this award, said Montgomery. I want to thank my co-workers for their dedication to the college.

Collista Allen

Allen is the faculty recipient of the New Horizons award. She started at the college in 2010.

This award means more to me than I can put into words, said Allen. I appreciate this award. I am humbled and thankful to receive it.

Sally Porter

Porter is the staff recipient of the New Horizons award. She started at the college in 2013.

I feel as though I work daily with many people who deserves this more than I do, but I am truly honored to receive this award, said Porter.

Dr. Devin Stephenson, president of BSCTC, said the New Horizons award winners demonstrate an unwavering commitment to our students, our college and the communities we serve.
