BIG SANDY IDOL VISITS PRESTONSBURG, CROWNS WINNERS

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) held its Big Sandy Idol competition at Prestonsburg High School on Friday, October 11.

Nine students participated for the coveted spots for the annual Big Sandy Idol regional competition set for March at the Mountain Arts Center. Alley Davis was crowned the overall winner, and Alex Campbell was the runner-up.

We had a tremendous showing at Prestonsburg High School, said Clayton Case, Director of Fine Arts at BSCTC. The talent of Eastern Kentucky continues to amaze us when we make stops at schools across our service area.

The event also featured a small concert by the Big Sandy Singers, an elite group comprised of BSCTC students.

Big Sandy Idol will roll into Shelby Valley High School on Friday, October 25.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College is celebrating milestone anniversaries 75 years at its Mayo campus, 50 years at its Prestonsburg campus (Prestonsburg Community College) and 10 years as Big Sandy Community and Technical College.
