BIG SANDY IDOL VISITS PIKEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL, CROWNS WINNERS
Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) held its Big Sandy Idol competition at Pikeville High School on Friday, January 17.
Thirteen students participated for the coveted spots for the annual Big Sandy Idol regional competition set for March at the Mountain Arts Center (MAC). Maria Musgrave was crowned the overall winner. Haleigh Johnson was the runner-up.
We had a tremendous showing at Pikeville High School, said Clayton Case, director of fine arts at BSCTC. The talent of Eastern Kentucky continues to amaze us when we make stops at schools across our service area.
The event also featured a small concert by the Big Sandy Singers, an elite group comprised of BSCTC students.
Big Sandy Idol has completed all of its local level Big Sandy Idol competitions. They are now working with all the winners from each school to prepare for the regional competition that will be held at the MAC on March 7 and 8.
