ART GALLERY FEATURES BSCTC STUDENTS ARTWORK

Brad Caldwell, of Salyersville, displays his artwork Tunnel to an Open Road at the BSCTC Art Gallery.  Artwork from current students will be on display through May 9. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in the Art Gallery, located in the Magoffin Learning Resource Center on the Prestonsburg campus.The Art Gallery at Big Sandy Community and Technical College will feature an exhibit of drawings and paintings from students through Friday, May 9.

Tim Smith, associate professor of art at BSCTC, said the exhibit features work from his Art 110 (Drawing) and Art 220 (Painting) classes.

This is a tribute to our students and their hard work and dedication throughout the semester, said Smith. This exhibit will cover a broad range of art.

The exhibit features drawing techniques, including one-point linear perspectives and paintings that vary from representational to abstractions.

A reception for the artist will be held on Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

The Art Gallery is located in the Magoffin Learning Resource Center on BSCTCs Prestonsburg campus. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Tim Sizemore at (606) 886-3863, Ext. 64746.
