    Alumna Highlight: Ms. Deitra Hackworth

    Ms. Deitra HackworthAlumna Deitra Hackworth graduated from Prestonsburg Community College in 1991 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She went on to get a Bachelors degree from Morehead State University and recently completed her Masters in Nursing Administration at Marshall University.

    Dee has been a dedicated and loyal employee at Highlands Regional Medical Center for 20 years. Her professional career includes that of a Registered Nurse, Outpatient/PACU, Director of Education, Director of Respiratory Care and more recently as the Medical Staff Informatics Specialist. Her practical and academic experience has allowed her to work hard to provide the citizens of the Big Sandy region with top quality health care.

    Dees advice to students is to set goals and stay focused. Although you will encounter stumbling blocks along the way, this is Gods way of reminding us that hard work does indeed pay off.

    Dee has many great memories of her time spent at PCC. She has developed a great friendship and respect for her former instructors Clara Garrett and Jenny Bottoms. Dee said, they knew when to encourage and comfort and also when to be tough.

    An important aspect of Dees life is family which includes her husband Bobby and daughter Taylor. Dee is also a very faithful and active church member at First Baptist Church in Prestonsburg.
