LPN - ADN Bridge Program

Application requirements include:

The Prestonsburg  application deadline is March 1st and the Pikeville application deadline is November 1st. All information needs to be taken to Sonja Crider on the Pikeville campus or Brenda Miller on the Prestonsburg Campus by the deadline.

The following are the items needed:

  1. Attendance at a Pre-Admission Nursing Conference
  2. Official High School Transcript or GED
  3. Official Transcripts from all Post-Secondary Education or Training Facilities.
    (This Excludes any KCTCS College/School)
  4. Results of the National ACT Test or TEAS Exam
  5. Active license to practice in Kentucky or a compact state as a licensed practical nurse.
  6. Proof of employment for 1 year as a licensed practical nurse. (This may be waived for BSCTC LPN graduates).

Selective Admission criteria (LPN to RN Bridge):

  • ACT of 18 or TEAs of 64
  • Required courses: (2 points for each completed once with a C or higher)
  • BIO 137 (pre-requisite)
  • BIO 139 (pre-requisite)
  • Quantitative Reasoning ** (pre-requisite)
  • ENG 101
  • Heritage/Humanities

(**Note: Quantitative Reasoning Course that meets AS, AA, or AFA level)
Cumulative GPA: 2.0

  • NSG 212 Behavioral Health Nursing
  • NSG 219 Medical Surgical Nursing I
  • ENG 101 (if not previously taken)

Second semester

  • NSG 211 Maternal Newborn Nursing
  • NSG 229 Medical Surgical Nursing II
  • BIO 225 (if not previously taken)

Third semester

  • NSG 213 Pediatric Nursing
  • NSG 239 Medical Surgical Nursing III
  • Heritage/Humanities (if not previously taken)
