Application Requirements

All students who have attended a Dental Hygiene/Dental Assisting Pre-Admission Conference and applying to either or both of these programs must submit a completed file to be considered for admission. The completed file must be submitted to Dean Jeremy Goodson or his representative in the Admissions Office by May 1st for Dental Hygiene and May 15th for Dental Assisting. Both files must be submitted by 4 PM on their respective days. 

The student must submit all required documentation listed below. The submitted materials will be reviewed and a checklist will be signed verifying the completed file. The student will be provided a copy of the signed checklist for their records.

The original form will be retained by the Admissions Department and placed in the student’s file. 

Please do not submit any documentation to the Dental Hygiene/Dental Assisting Department or any other department of the College.

The student will assume all responsibility for delivering their completed file to Dean Jeremy Goodson or his representative in the Admissions & Records Office.

Required Materials
for a Completed File

  1. Attendance at a Pre-Admission Dental Hygiene/Dental Assisting Conference
  2. Official High School Transcript or GED
  3. Official Transcripts from all Post-Secondary Education or Training Facilities.
    (This Excludes any KCTCS College/School)
  4. Results of the National ACT Test
  5. Dental office experience form verifying a minimum of 4 hours observation in a dental office.
  6. Students admitted into the Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene career track must have completed BIO 137 (Anatomy & Physiology I) and BIO 139 (Anatomy & Physiology II) at the time of program application. All Science courses (BIO 137, BIO 139, and BIO 225) must have been completed within the past ten years. 
  7. CPR (BLS for Healthcare providers) requirements must be successfully completed prior to enrolling in the first semester dental hygiene courses or dental assisting courses and must be kept current throughout the program.
