Complete and submit a general Application for Admission to Big Sandy Community & Technical College. If you are currently enrolled at Big Sandy,
then you can proceed to the next step.
Start your application for the Dental Assisting or Dental Hygiene program. If you
are applying to both programs, you will need to complete two separate applications.
As part of your selective admission application to the dental programs, you must submit
an official copy of your high school transcript or GED scores. The transcript is official if
it has the registrar's seal or signature. High school transcripts can be ordered online

Submit official college transcripts from all colleges or universities that you have attended (showing
every period of enrollment). This includes dual credit and AP courses. College transcripts

Submit official ACT (or SAT equivalent) scores. If you have not taken the ACT, you will need to make
arrangements to do so. Official ACT scores can be from an official high school transcript
or from the ACT website at ACT | College and Career Readiness Solutions
If you are applying for Dental Hygiene and have taken the Dental Assisting National
Board (DANB) exam, then you may choose to submit those scores to be awarded preference
points. You will need to submit scores in sections of General Chairside, Infection
Control, and Oral Radiology.
Complete a minimum of 4 hours observation in a dental office. The dentist, hygienist,
or assistant that you shadow/observe needs to sign and date the form. You will upload
