Katrina is a 1989 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a baccalaureate in nursing. She has eighteen years of experience teaching in a secondary level Health Sciences program and has acted as adjunct faculty at BSCTC for several years. Her nursing career includes experience in rehabilitation, psychiatric nursing, long-term care, home health, and nursing administration. Katrina has a strong background in technical education as a former student at the secondary level and the daughter of a retired Kentucky Tech principal. She loves to inspire students to strive to reach their goals and to become competent, compassionate caregivers.

This is because they are spending time together exploring career options in beyond typical career conversations. In fact, the question "What do you want to be when you grow up?" is much less daunting, because students are experiencing "My Future Fridays" programming.

Brooke Fields was bleeding brakes when she was just six years old. Her grandfather, a well-known mechanic in Pike County, told her at that young age, "I'm going to raise you to be independent so you don't have to depend on anybody else." He succeeded.
