Leading Ladies Conference

Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the University of Pikeville will host the second annual Leading Ladies Regional Women's Leadership Conference on Friday, April 6, from 8:30am-3:00pm, on the Prestonsburg Campus of Big Sandy in the Johnson Building, Room 102.

The event is free.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

An exciting list of successful women leaders are ready to share their insights and expertise with attendees. Kentucky’s Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton will provide a keynote address. Additional speakers include Big Sandy and UPIKE faculty and administrators along with community leaders who will discuss:          

  • "Community and Civic Engagement"
  • “The Good Life? Balancing work, life and self”
  • “What it Means to #LeadLikeAGirl”

This year, we’ve added a program for area high school students with sessions including: 

  • “What is Leadership?”
  • “Social Media vs. Social Networking”
  • Roundtable discussions with women leaders and college students in the fields of STEM, Arts, Business/Entrepreneurship, Law, Healthcare, Education, Communication and Wellness and Mindfulness
