Bays Named Outstanding College and Career Counselor

The 2017 Kentucky Counseling Association Conference was recently held in Louisville which had over seven-hundred participants with over one-hundred breakout sessions covering a wide range of topics. 

During the KCA Conference Leslie Bays from Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) was named the Outstanding College and Career Counselor for 2017.  

Leslie began her career at then Prestonsburg Community College (PCC) in 1992 in the Financial Aid office.  She has also worked in various areas including Institutional Research as well as Advancement, before answering her calling for counseling. 

“I have always wanted to help people and I was truly honored to have received this award from KCA.”  Said Leslie Bays.   “I love helping students and helping to make an impact on their lives.”  

The Kentucky Counseling Association is the state branch of the American Counseling Association and is an organization of counseling professionals who work in educational, health care, residential, private practice, community agency, government, business and industry settings. 

“Leslie does a great job assisting students to help ease their fears and helping to guide them on a career path that fits their needs.” Said Jimmy Wright, dean of student affairs.
