BSCTC, University of Pikeville sign memorandum of agreement for Optometry School

Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) and University of Pikeville signed a memorandum of agreement on Friday, October 20 aligning the colleges to continue to provide educational opportunities to students in eastern Kentucky.
“This agreement shows the commitment to growth and collaboration.” “Collaboration is how you make things happen” said Dr. Sherry Zylka, President and CEO of BSCTC.
BSCTC was founded in 2003 as part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and continues to provide educational opportunities to students in eastern Kentucky.
Collaboration and bringing educational opportunities to the region is what this Memorandum was about.
“We are collaborating to provide opportunities to students who have an interest in Optometry.” said University of Pikeville President Dr. Burton Webb. “With this collaboration we are going to allow placement of 3 BSCTC students into the program.
