Dr. Sherry Zylka BSCTC President/ CEO speaks to Paintsville Rotary Club
Dr. Sherry Zylka, President and CEO of Big Sandy Community & Technical College (BSCTC), was the guest speaker for the Paintsville Rotary Club’s weekly meeting held at the Ramada Inn Conference Center.
Dr. Zylka presented the results of the resent Analysis of the Economic Impact and Return on Investment of Education study showing the economic value of Big Sandy Community and Technical College within the five county service region. This study was conducted by Emsi, a CareerBuilder company, which has completed over 1,700 economic impact studies for educational institutions in four countries.
“Successful students are important to our region and we want to keep our graduates here to help grow our local economy.” Said Dr. Sherry Zylka “This study shows that Big Sandy Community and Technical College has an overall impact of $171.7 million dollars in the region.”
Dr. Zylka, comes to BSCTC from Wayne County Community College District in Detroit, Michigan where she served as provost. She also served as dean of College Centers and Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Schoolcraft College so she understands the importance of getting students started with dual credit and also the workforce programs available.
BSCTC has over 32 programs and more than 200 credentials and provides training through our Workforce Solutions, EPIC and Digital Careers Now programs.
