Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) is a proud sponsor of the 15th Region basketball tournament.
The tournament, which was held at the East Kentucky Expo Center February 27 through March 6, featured district tournament champions and runners-up from the 57th, 58th, 59th and 60th districts, respectively.
“This makes our third year as a sponsor, and we are proud to be a small part of a wonderful event that brings our schools and communities together,” said Joshua Ball, director of strategic communications at BSCTC. “The tournament presents us with an opportunity to highlight our college and our programs to tens of thousands of spectators throughout the event.”
BSCTC distributed pom-poms to fans throughout the tournament. The pom-poms featured the new college mascot Pathfinder, who was in attendance throughout the tournament.
“Pathfinder demonstrates that no matter what path you choose, Big Sandy can be a part of it,” added Ball. “Our college offers the state’s lowest tuition, outstanding career and technical programs, in-person and online courses and 30 programs and more than 200 credentials.”
Ball wanted to thank 60th District schools (Lawrence County, Pike Central, Belfry and Phelps high schools) for their work in coordinating this year’s regional tournaments.
“This is a huge undertaking, and it takes a lot of people to pull off a tournament of this caliber,” he continued. “Tournament director Kevin Garris and the Expo Center staff do a tremendous job in putting on this wonderful event.”
