What is Cosmetology?
The Cosmetology Program prepares students for employment as a salon stylist. Students gain skills in hairstyling, haircutting, shampooing, chemical texture services, skin and nail care and as a salon manager. The Cosmetology Program is conducted as a joint effort of Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology and Hairdressers.
What are my career options?
Most of these workers are employed in beauty salons, but they also are found in nail salons, day and resort spas, and nursing and other residential care homes.

You can earn an associate in applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
