3.4.11 For each major in a degree program, the institution assigns responsibility for program coordination, as well as for curriculum development and review, to persons academically qualified in the field. In those degree programs for which the institution does not identify a major, this requirement applies to a curriculum area or concentration.

Narrative:

Coordination of programs is an essential element of the academic unit at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC). Each program at BSCTC is assigned to an academically qualified instructional program coordinator or full-time faculty member for coordination, curriculum development, and review [1]. Responsibilities in the area of coordination may include management of schedule preparation, communication of policies and procedures, and oversight of reports and reviews. Due to multiple campuses at BSCTC, coordination of particularly significant to the successful operation of programs.

All faculty members meet the minimum academic and professional preparation as detailed in the Instructional Program Coordinators-Academic and Other Qualifications table [2].
