3.2.5 The governing board has a policy whereby members can be dismissed only for appropriate reasons and by a fair process.

Narrative:

Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS) 164.321, Section 10 [1] states that members of the Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) Board of Directors and Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) Board of Regents may be removed by the Governor for cause, which includes neglect of duty or malfeasance in office, after being afforded a hearing with the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education and a finding of fact by the Council. The Governor's dismissal of board members is also addressed in KRS 63.080, Sections 1 and 2 [2].

No members, to date, have been dismissed from either the BSCTC Board of Directors or the KCTCS Board of Regents.
