One of the goals within the Mission of Big Sandy Community and Technical
College [1]
(BSCTC) relates to fundraising activities that will support the needs of the institution.
KCTCS Administrative Policy 1.5.6.1[2]
provides that the College president/CEO has ultimate control of the institution's fund raising activities. Fund raising
activities at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) are assigned to the Office of Institutional Advancement and
comply with the KCTCS Administrative
Policy 7.6 regarding fund raising [3].
The Advancement Officer reports to the
President/CEO of BSCTC [4].
The College's foundation, Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc. (BSCEF), is a 501(c) (3) organization recognized by
the Internal Revenue Service.
BSCEF is incorporated [5]
as a recognized foundation of the Kentucky Community and Technical College system and adheres to Board of Regents Policy
7.4.2.1 [6].
Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc., in accordance with KCTCS Administrative Policy
7.4 [7],
partners with BSCTC to support the College's
mission [1]
and dedication to student success. This partnership is evidenced by both the President of BSCTC and the Advancement Officer
holding membership on BSCEF's Board of Directors, with the Advancement Officer serving as executive director
(Article VII, Section 9) [8].
The meeting minutes of the Foundation illustrate the involvement of the President and Advancement Officer in fundraising
activities [9].
The CEO's control over BSCTC's fundraising activities is also addressed in
Comprehensive Standard 3.2.2.4.
