ASE Certification
ASE is the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, a non-profit organization established in 1972 by the automotive industry to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive repair technicians.
Not only does Big Sandy Community and Technical College provide the training necessary for students to become ASE certified, we also serve as an official ASE testing center.
NATEF Certification
The Automotive Technology program at Big Sandy Community and Technical College boasts certification through NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation). NATEF examines the curriculum, equipment, structure, resources, and instructor qualification of training programs every five years and evaluates them against nationally accepted standards of quality. NATEF's precise national standards reflect the skills that students must master. ASE certification through NATEF evaluation ensures that certified training programs meet or exceed industry-recognized, uniform standards of excellence.
