Dance Team Tryout Information
Tryouts will be held Saturday May 6, 2006 at 1:00pm in the Wellness Center Aerobics Room in the Johnson Building on the Prestonsburg Campus
Information
Tryouts will be conducted before a panel of judges. The score sheet that will be used can be found below. You will be judged on your performance during the tryout session, as well as your demeanor and overall appearance. Members of the Dance Team represent Big Sandy Community and Technical College and should therefore present themselves as such ambassadors. Come to tryouts dressed as through you are performing in front of a crowd - hair and makeup should be presentable as well as wearing attire suitable for dancing that shows your form. First impressions are very important.
Requirements
1. Basic Moves
Be able to demonstrate your proficiency with the following movements:
Toe Touch
Splits (left, right, and center)
Toe Touch
Splits (left, right, and center)
2. Performance
Prepare a 30 second routine that shows your ability
to incorporate various moves showing both difficulty
and grace. You may choose any music you like. Be
creative. *Make sure you bring the music with you to
tryouts.
3. Ability to Retain Instruction
You will be shown various 8 counts and will be
required to perform them. Movements will include
kicks and turns.
